People are often occupied with noise.
Noise is a stimulus. When there are stimuli, we respond, and we cannot stop. When we cannot stop, we become tired and nervous. More seriously, we can easily get lost.
Many times, people don't even realize they are panicking when they get lost. They think that as long as they keep responding, they will eventually find their way out of the maze.
However, the most distracting noise is not from the outside, but the noise of our inner thoughts, which is also more difficult to escape.
That is why learning how to block out noise is important; in other words, creating silence.
To block out outside noise, one easy way is to stop doing anything and start thinking. But thinking will create inner noise.
To block out inner noise, the best way is to start doing something that doesn't require much thinking, for example, doing chores or cooking something simple.
Once you reach the state of silence, you'll find a unique sense of calm and clarity. This silence isn't necessarily the absence of all sound or thought but rather a harmonious balance.
How do you know that you have reached the state of silence?
1. Feeling present, more deeply immersed in the current moment, aware of your surroundings, your own feelings, and sensations, with a heightened attention to details.
2. Time may feel slow. You might think that you are acting very slowly and perhaps wasting time, but actually, time might not be passing as quickly as you think. Because of your increased attention to details, your action are more neat and therefore although you act slow, you still end up using roughly the same time.
3. Physical relaxation: Your breathing is slower and deeper, your muscles are less tense.
4. Low energy state, reduced reactivity.
5. Joy in simple things.
